Διάσημη ηθοποιός μιλά ανοιχτά για το σοβαρό πρόβλημα υγείας του νεογέννητου γιου της

Μήνας ευαισθητοποίησης συγγενούς καρδιακής ανεπάρκειας, είναι ο Μάρτιος και έτσι μίλησε για πρώτη φορά, για το σοβαρό πρόβλημα υγείας του γιου της. Ο γιος της Jaime King προχώρησε σε εγχείρηση καρδιάς, αμέσως μετά τη γέννηση του.

Ο 2χρονος σήμερα γιος της είναι μία χαρά και ζει φυσιολογικά, θέλοντας έτσι να στείλει ένα μήνυμα αισιοδοξίας και κουράγιου στις οικογένειες που βρίσκονται στην ίδια θέση με τη δική της.

Thank you Dr. Randy Harris, Cedars Sinai, nurses, the cardiac team, Dr. Alistar Phillips for your brilliant mind & hands that are miracles. Thank you to my friends, family & husband. Thank you to this industry, the craft I love with my whole heart for paying me to be of service, to entertain others. Thank you because without it- my child would not have had the means to have the medical care he needed and I needed to survive. I ask, that our administration and Trump see that I came from the Midwest, a Republican family, farmers, simple hard working people. I achieved the American dream. That is rare. Protect our people, our families, our babies. Let all post & share their stories of miracles. Do not act in vain, or stop the beating hearts, the rise and fall of breath, the simple act of all having the chance of wholeness, health and well being, without fear. Where there is life to be held, there is innovation, creation, contribution. If God loves all of his children… Shouldn't you?

Ήταν στο δεύτερο τρίμηνο της εγκυμοσύνης της, όταν ο γιατρός ανακοίνωσε στην ίδια και στο σκηνοθέτη σύζυγό της, Kyle Newman ότι το μωρό διαγνώστηκε με πρόβλημα στις αρτηρίες της καρδιάς του (ονομάζεται μετάθεση μεγάλων αρτηριών). Ένα επικίνδυνο και πολύπλοκο πρόβλημα συγγενούς καρδιοπάθειας, και θα έπρεπε να προχωρήσει σε εγχείρηση ανοιχτής καρδιάς, μόλις γεννηθεί.

Η ηθοποιός ευχαρίστησε μέσα από το μήνυμά της τους γιατρούς που ανέλαβαν το γιο της, Leo και τον βοήθησαν να τα καταφέρει και να βγει νικητής σημειώνοντας: «Είμαστε τυχεροί, που μπορείς σήμερα να υποβληθείς σε αυτή τη δύσκολη επέμβαση και να έχεις μία ευκαιρία στη ζωή, ενώ πριν χρόνια αυτό δεν ήταν εφικτό. Δεδομένου ότι για την οικογένεια μας ήταν μία τραυματική, και τρομακτική ιστορία, θα σας πω μόνο ότι ο μικρός μου Leo, πάλεψε σαν λιοντάρι. Αγωνίστηκε τόσο σκληρά και πέρασε τις πρώτες εβδομάδες της ζωής του, μέσα στη ΜΕΘ».

It’s #chdawareness month so I thought we should share our story of the birth and journey of Leo Thames. At 22 weeks pregnant he was diagnosed with Transposition of the Great Arteries. A perilous and complex congenital heart issue. We were told he had to have open heart surgery for him to survive. We are lucky that they now have this surgery as not so long ago he would not have had a chance. As it’s a traumatic yet beautiful story I will share only these details. He is alive and well because he is strong as a lion. He fought so hard and spent his every newborn day for weeks in the ICU. Because we have the means to have the most brilliant doctors and healthcare – Dr. Randy Harris, Dr. Allistar Phillips, everyone at the Cedars Sinai congenital heart program – the will and faith of our own souls – the strength of a healthy marriage – friends and family that were there every step of the way we made it through. I took a long time to feel safe and balanced after this fight. He is a perfectly healthy and radiant 2 and a half year old child. As if nothing ever happened. So many families and children do not have this. We must fight for them and their health care so that they will have the God given right to a healthy and happy future. Thank you. ?❤️?❤️?
